New York Yankee pitcher Roger Clemens, 45, tested his tight left hamstring in a workout today at a Yankees facility in Tampa, Florida. Clemens threw 49 pitches in mid-80's weather and indicated that he felt no pain and was prepared to take the mound for Game 3 of the ALDS later this week.
Just to be on the safe side, however, Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has also paid $1.1 million for the services of a "hamstring donor." The unidentified 27-year old Hong Kong bike messenger reportedly has "the quads of a minotaur," according to Yankee vice president of player personnel Billy Connors.
